Who we are

Eat Wild is a trading name of Simps Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17432160. Registered office: The Lake Lodge, Foggathorpe, Selby, YO8 6PZ. Simps Ltd has paid the ICO data protection fee (application C2066857). ICO registration number: [to follow]. Contact: hello@eat-wild.com. Messages sent through the contact form are stored so they can be answered from that address.

Public listings

Unclaimed listings are compiled from public business information: trading name, place, products where known, a one-sentence summary, website, and certification wording from public sources. We do not invent descriptions or photographs. Research notes used to build a listing are not published. Rows marked for exclusion in the source file are not imported. If products were unknown, the page says so and the listing does not match a food category.

You can ask for a listing to be taken offline from the “Request removal” link on the listing. If we approve that request, the page comes down, its analytics are deleted, and we keep a minimal suppression record (the business name and country, normalised) so a later import does not put that listing back. We also keep the removal request itself, including the email you gave us, so we can show that the opt-out happened.

Claims and accounts

If you claim a listing we store your name, role, business email, phone, and the note you wrote. If the claim is approved we create a login for that email. The password is stored as a hash. Sign-in links are random, stored only as a hash, and expire after 48 hours. A claim is reviewed in the directory whether or not an email is delivered. The owner can issue a sign-in link by hand.

The contact form stores your name, email, and message so the owner can reply. That reply comes from hello@eat-wild.com.

Analytics

The directory counts, on our own server, listing page views, appearances in search and browse results, clicks through to a producer’s website, and clicks on the claim button. Each event has a time and the page path. We do not store IP addresses. We do not use a third-party analytics vendor. Requests that look like bots, and Next.js prefetches, are not counted. Admin browsing is not counted. Events older than 14 months are deleted by the nightly backup job.

We use these counts to run the directory and to show a producer, or a producer we hope will claim a listing, a short summary such as how many views and website clicks the listing had.

Cookies

A first-party cookie named ew_session is set only when an admin or a supplier signs in. It is strictly necessary for that login. See the cookies page.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. Launch does not use a third-party email service. Contact messages, claim requests, and sign-in details are stored on this site for the directory owner to follow up. If a mail server is configured later in the server environment, those messages can be sent through it. Until then they are not sent. The site is hosted on infrastructure controlled by the operator. Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers when you open a map; that is a request from your browser to them, not a tracker we embed.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA you can ask for access, correction, deletion, or restriction, and you can object to analytics on a listing you are responsible for.
